Flowers

I always find it amusing what exactly gets stored away in memories. One of these memories is associated with the anthropology building on ASU's campus. Every spring when the wind picks up a bit, the "basement" hallways becomes littered with pinkish purple, paper-like flowers, and when the back door opens, a wind tunnel forms and blows the flowers around. On this day there were not as many flowers as in the past, but it still made me smile.

The first photo was taken with my back to the door.
The second photo was taken by the bathrooms (see 1st photo for location).


Prior to taking these pictures, I had never sought out exactly where these flowers where coming from; I found they were extremely close by. I know I had seen this plant before but never took the time to put two and two together. As can be seen in the photo this is an extremely large plant, the building it is attached to is three stories tall.


In the picture below you can see how close the back door is to this very large plant.
