Jib Jab!

I was watching the debates last night and was reminded of Jib Jab, a collection of funny video animations. Today, I found that they have already made a video about this current election.

And lets not forget the old favorites...

Welcome Home Tailor!

Last Wednesday I brought home a new cat, Tailor; she got her name from her slightly kinked half tail.

I am her third and last owner. She previously belonged to the sister of my coworker Meg.

She has been kicked out of homes due to dogs twice. She had been living in a garaged and barked at and frighten by the three dogs that lived in the house.

As can been seen in the photo, she has made herself at home at my place. She loves to be on anything and everything soft.

Tailor has a great personality, she is very loving a sweet but a little skittish. I think she will ease up a bit once she realizes that there will be no dogs coming after her.

Shrody, my other cat, is starting to become more comfortable with the fact that there is a new cat in the house.

The River

The first river trip of the season was this past Saturday.

Jaskie attempted to make this a small group but failed. 11 people ended up going: me, Jaskie, Chris (Tree), Emily, Meaghan, Brad, Lilly (Brads friend), David, Hillary, Jarrod, Carl, and Nyomi.

Good times were had, beers were drunk, song here attempted to be sung; Piano man went well but we decided Build Me Up Buttercup was not the same without Parker.

One big thing went wrong however, Jarrod made the mistake of trusting Nyomi with his keys. Apparently, Nyomi had zipper pockets on the pants she was wearing on the river, so she and Jarrod thought it was a safe place to keep their keys. Well, Nyomi's story is her tube flipped over and her pants fell off... I personally think there has to be more to it... anyways, she immediately started looking for the pants but did not tell the rest of us until 20 minutes later. Needless to say the pants and keys were never found.

The river was really slow that day and it took us 6 1/2 hours to make the trip, we reached the cars at 5:30. Now I was not there for this, but apparently everyone else who was involved in the key debacle did not get home till after 8:30.

Moral of this story: Don't trust Nyomi to be able to keep her pants on ;)

Brad's Housewarming Party

Last night was the housewarming party for Brads new place.

About 2 weeks ago, Brad made the mistake of telling us that his and Meaghan's safe word was "banana's. I thought it was funny at the time and had not thought of it sense. Jaskie however, kept it in his mind and came up with a wonderful idea; to call everyone Brad was inviting and tell them to bring a bundle of banana's as a housewarming gift. Lilly was the one who added the handcuffs.

And of course Fatty, the alcoholic dog with good peripheral vision, was also there. Fatty was "attacking" anyone with a beer in reach. Notice in this picture he is looking at the beer with his creepy looking fish eyes.

Here are some more photos of Fatty's reign of terror:

Flowers

I always find it amusing what exactly gets stored away in memories. One of these memories is associated with the anthropology building on ASU's campus. Every spring when the wind picks up a bit, the "basement" hallways becomes littered with pinkish purple, paper-like flowers, and when the back door opens, a wind tunnel forms and blows the flowers around. On this day there were not as many flowers as in the past, but it still made me smile.

The first photo was taken with my back to the door.
The second photo was taken by the bathrooms (see 1st photo for location).

Prior to taking these pictures, I had never sought out exactly where these flowers where coming from; I found they were extremely close by. I know I had seen this plant before but never took the time to put two and two together. As can be seen in the photo this is an extremely large plant, the building it is attached to is three stories tall.

In the picture below you can see how close the back door is to this very large plant.

Hi Parker

OMG! How did you win THE GAME!?!?!??!

Well, this is going to be a bit shorted than originally intended but a paper is waiting to be written....

There have been a number of things that made me think of you recently. First off, Colleen Scott and I were at Casey Moors (or how ever you spell it) and there was a guy playing bagpipes and I knew you would have liked that... I do not think there are many bagpipe player in China...

Chris and I went to the Renfest this year. Everyone else was sick or too busy. Btw, you missed a mega plague, most of our group has been taken out by it. One week at trivia it was just me and Portillo. Everyone else was sick. I think I told you about that one... we won team name with "fucked if i know" bc that is what we were saying the whole time. Anyways back to Renfest. Chris and I saw this and it made us laugh and thought it would give you flash backs...

Now for St. Patty's Day!

We took a number of pictures just for you and these are them:

Here is the crew.

These two miss you.

Story time! We were listening to the trivia guy Martins band, the Scones, and they started playing Wonderwall. Upon hearing this Carl and I, at the same time, made a crying noise and said “I miss Parker!”
